This interactive storybook project began with a few stories I'd been writing while at college. I decided I wanted a creative way to display my writing, and designed an animated page-turning sequence, scripted the interface and even illustrated the stories (badly) all by myself. As well as having animated pages, the book features bookmarks used to jump back and forth between the index and the last page visited. |

The idea behind this panoramic exploration project started out as a series of images drawn to resemble 360° panoramic scenes, in which users could click on doorawys that would bring them to other images, basically giving the impression of traveling between nodes where one could spin in circles by moving the mouse. The idea came from Myst III, in case you were thinking it was painfully familiar. |

I've been wanting to try my hand at an isometric puzzle game for a while now, and I think this is a good introductory level so far. The point of this level is to reach the boat, which takes you to what will be a second level sometime in the future. The game is quite linear, as the items can only be collected in one order, but as I find the time, I'd like to add more mini-games, items and abilities. |

Another little game I came up with a while back. this one uses the mouse to control the rotation of a cluster of circles as more circles descend to stick to them. Each circle has a bunch of hit areas to detect collision which every existing circle as it falls, so the CPU load increases exponentially with each circle. That's not good. I'll work on polishing that up when I've got a bit more time. |

Why would I include a blatant student project here? I hate seeing obvious school assignments in portfolios, unless there's something that will set it apart from the millions of similar projects you'll see from every school. The assignment was a guess-the-number game with 100 choices, 40 guesses and a Nickelodeon inspired theme. Reducing the choices down to 10 was probably a good start. |
